Emetil is available in tablet form, extended-release capsules, oral liquid, and rectal suppositories. It can be taken before or after meals. It is important to follow the instructions provided for optimal results.
Emetil is not suitable for individuals with known hypersensitivity to the product and its components, preexisting CNS depression, coma, bone marrow suppression, or phaechromocytoma. It is also advised against use in breastfeeding or pregnant women, or those planning to become pregnant, to avoid serious adverse effects.
Emetil may interact with antiparkinson agents and TCAs, potentially causing an anticholinergic crisis. It may also interact when combined with MAOIs. Additionally, interactions have been reported with sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, general anesthetics, opiates, and alcohol.
